Brief & Idea

Cancer has become the top ten leading causes of death and seriously affects the health of human beings all over the world. It arises from the transformation from normal cells into cancerous one through complex mechanisms. Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of cancer causing or suppressing has become the foremost focus of biomedical research towards eradicating cancer, which is an important issue of global concern. In recent years, worldwide biomedical research, including in Taiwan has made unprecedented progress in both quality and quantity. Case in point is the recent speedy and effective development of several SARS-Cov2 vaccines and remedies in a short period of time. Modern biomedical research requires knowledge sharing and inter needs of many cross disciplines. Therefore, close interaction and collaboration among diverse fields are becoming a crucial practice in biomedical science. The inception of ICABS aims to promote scientific sharing between experts in Taiwan and internationally on a mutually beneficial basis.

ICABS2023

International Conference on Advanced Biomedical Sciences, Taiwan2023/12/01- 2023/12/02

Following the conference tradition we have organized yet another strong lineup of both international and domestic renowned speakers for the ICABS2023. These speakers include prominent cancer researchers such as Drs. Robert Weinberg and Lewis Cantley along with several Members of the US National Academy of Science and Medicine, Academician of Academia Sinica, acclaimed scholars from US, Singapore, Taiwan, and domestic young investigators. Credit to the lift of travel restrictions affected by COVID, all international speakers will attend the conference in person. We encourage all participants to take advantage of this rare opportunity to interact with these world renowned researchers.
Per request from last year’s participants, a special session again will be devoted to meet the editors-in-chief or senior editors of prominent journals such as Science, Nature, Cancer Cell, and Cancer Discovery. They will share the insights of how to publish in their respective journals. Distinct from last year, in addition to poster sessions to encourage abstract submission from , the ICABS2023 committee will preselect several outstanding abstracts for a short platform presentation.

ICABS2022

International Conference on Advanced Biomedical Sciences, Taiwan2022/11/04- 2022/11/06

Continuing with last year's tradition we have again organized a strong lineup of internationally renowned speakers from US, Japan, and Taiwan for ICABS2022. These speakers include a Nobel Laureate, Members of US National Academy of Medicine, Academician of Academia Sinica and several young and senior investigators from Taiwan. Furthermore, we have a special session where speakers are either editors-in-chief or senior editors of prominent journals such as Nature, Cancer Cell, Molecular Cell, and Cancer Research. They will share the insights of how to publish in top-rated journals. It is hoped to promote the publications in high impact journals from biomedical research communities in Taiwan. Similar to last year, ICABS 2022 will have poster sessions to encourage abstract submission from trainees and graduated students. These abstracts will be reviewed and the top 10 abstracts will be selected for an award.
